If you are an experienced ornithologist, we have a client who is after a senior grade to join them where you will bring your skills and experience in lead exciting projects and overseeing everything from:
Preliminary Ecology Appraisals
Ecological Impact Assessments
Habitats Regulations Assessments
Mitigation Strategies
To be a success in this role, you will be adept at scoping, designing and leading ecological surveys, where you will be comfortable to develop relationships with our clients to win work for the team and yourself, where you will build a strong client and site portfolio.
They are also looking for someone who can be a leader to mentor their budding consultants and graduates.
Desirable Qualifications
Academic qualifications in ecology or biological sciences.
A CIEEM member working towards Chartership.
Ideally a specialism in Ornithology, with a track record of scoping and undertaking breeding and non-breeding bird surveys for large sites.
Experience in Habitat Regulations Assessments and stakeholder engagement with Natural England, and design of mitigation strategies.
In-depth understanding of the legislative and planning policy framework.
Excellent survey skills including extended Phase I/UKHabs, specialised species surveys.
Experience liaising with clients, statutory bodies, and LPAs.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clarity for both clients and peers.
Robust and precise report writing and reviewing capabilities.
Exceptional project management skills: leading, mentoring, and making sure projects are delivered on time and within budget, all while exceeding client expectations.
A proven track record in business development and securing your own projects.

A full UK driving licence.
