The Opportunity
We have a great opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy who are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Senior Ecologist, with ideally a minimum of 4/5 years’ experience.
You will be comfortable and keen to lead and mentor team members, manage aspects of team operations, and oversee survey planning and resourcing.
There will be the opportunity to conduct a full range of ecological surveys, including specialist assessments, where you will produce high-quality reports.
There will also be the need to engage in client liaison and business development, as these will be key parts of your role.
You should be proficient in PEA/UK Habitat Surveys, protected species surveys (GCN, Dormouse, Bat), GIS mapping, and data analysis, with a strong understanding of UK/EU legislation and industry standards.
Experience across sectors like quarrying, rail, road, energy, and industrial is beneficial. You’ll also provide input on fees, tenders, budgeting, and project management while ensuring compliance with health and safety standards.
Desirable Qualifications
To be successful within this role, you will ideally have -
BSc in Ecology (or similar)
MSc Environment (or equivalent)
Associate CIEEM progressing to Full CIEEM
Ideally one or two licences
